Macworld Wishes & Expectations
Macworld is only 3 days away now and the rumor mill is running like mad. Like every other Mac addict I have my own expectations for this years Macworld, and already have a couple of purchases planned. These are all wishes, not a list of what I think will be released.

iLife 07 is one product that I will be purchasing. I’m hoping for an update to iPhoto, to make it a little better for advanced editing of images (this will help me when I have the MacBook in the field). I’d also like iWeb to become a little more mainstream and make it easier to create professional looking sites, the current themes are a little lacking.
iWork 07 is a software suite I’ve just started to use in the past 6 months as Microsoft has been so slow to release a Universal version of Office. Pages has become my one and only text editing application, I love it to bits. Apple really knows how to take an application with an extensive tool-kit and make it super simple to use. I hope Apple will include the speculated spread-sheeting application in iWork 07.
iPhone. The rumors have been going around for years about a speculated “iPhone”. As much as I want this product, I want Apple to release it just so I can hear the end of all the rumors. If Apple came out with a phon at Macworld I wouldn’t care if it had an in-built iTunes. All I want out of a phone is something which syncs effortlessly with Address Book, iChat, Mail, and iCal.
Updated Cinema Displays. I am really hoping Apple will update the line of Cinema Displays at Macworld as part of my 07 shopping list is a Mac Pro and two 20″ Apple Cinema Displays. I would like to see a built-in iSight in the displays (much like the iMac), and new models in 17, 20, 24, and 30″ sizes.
What are you hoping for his Steve-ness to unveil at the Macworld 2007 keynote?

New displays definitely, I really would like one for my Macbook. Apart from that, an update on what Leopard is turning out like plus a release date for the iTV.

I really want a 24″ Cinema Display with iSight built-in and regular TV connection one it , e.g. Composite or Scart or HDMI.
Cant wait for leopard - I’ve put my £60 aside for it.

wphI want iLife 07 with an updated iWeb. I’m hoping for integrated FTP and more advanced site creation tools, not just some more templates.
I also want an iPhone.
And Leopard coming early would be nice.

I would love to see a new more powerful Mac Mini.

Well, we all know that a new iLife and iWork are coming out, thanks to Amazon.com. I believe there’s single and multi-pack versions.
Anyway, I would like a nice update to iPhoto as it’s the only part of iLife that I actually use.
I would like to see a slight processor upgrade in the iMacs, but that’s not going to happen. I just want it so that it would really push me into buying that rather than the Mac Pro (I’m still leaning towards iMac, purely because I’ll probably end up buying another iMac or better in a year or two anyway).
I do want the iPhone. Chances of it being out in the UK in January? Incredibly low.

I’m with DeathAxe. Since the Mac Mini will most likely be the first mac I purchase this year, I hope that it will be more powerful at the same or lower price.

ChristianGlenn, I’m with you on the iPhone comment. It would be great to have one but I’m just tired of seeing rumors and Photoshop pics everywhere. I hope they took some notes of what iWeb is lacking when they looked at other applications like RapidWeaver.

Glenn, I’m very skeptical about the phone. I might be wrong, but I can’t imagine how Apple would try entering that market. But Apple always surprises us.
I blogged my thoughts on this here:

I would like to have a Macbook Pro 12″. That would be marvelous!
I have also posted something about the Keynote next week on my blog.

Perhaps an update to the MacBook Pros. Or cheaper. Either is cool.

I don’t know whether I’d have put it that bluntly, however, I’m with Jay - new iPods would be nice. =P

I too would like to see the iPhone become a reality. New MacBooks would be nice too (especially with rumors of them coming out with Flash memory to store the OS :D)

If the iPhone is announced I don’t think it will be released straight away. But just like Glenn, I want to stop hearing all the rumours about it.

I think that we will see the iPhone and will see a wide screen iPod. But the problem with this keynote is that everyone thinks they know what is to come.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Steve unveil a new 8-core tower, or a cheaper laptop. But I made my predictions here:

I have a funny feeling we might not see a massive amount of announcements. I read a report saying Apple had fallen out with the Macworld organizers and they might favour a ‘One More Thing’ event later in the month to announce an iPhone etc. I might be wrong and hopefully I am but everyone is getting their hopes up so much that they’re bound to be disappointed at the end.

I’m switching from PC to mac. I’m planning to buy a MacBook Pro on March 30, 2007, just before the Easter holydays, here in Belgium.
So I’m hoping for a spreadsheet program in iWork 07. And off course the immediate release of Leopard. But nobody else seem to think Leopard will be announced… Does anyone know when it’s planned?
