Desktop Friday: The Thirty Sixth
Each and every Friday I post a desktop wallpaper which I have taken personally on travels and outings with my Canon 350D. The wallpaper is sized at a resoultion of 2560×1600 pixels, big enough to be used on a 30 inch Apple Cinema Display, so no-one will miss out.
Towering Above

Feel free to leave any comments or constructive criticism about this wallpaper below - it helps me grow and learn the art of photography. If you have suggestions for Desktop Friday, feel free to shoot me an email. Have a great weekend!

Do you guys think editing out the leaves in the lower right corner would have made this a little better? I try to stay away from ‘image manipulation’ and keep to general editing within Aperture.

No, that’s a kickass shot.

You need to focus on the framing of your photographs more. Don’t cut off the tips of the leaves, leave them all in. Framing is key.

Glenn,
Awesome shot! I agree with Dustin but all in all I love how you handled the f-stop.

Nice shot Glenn! The only thing that could be improved upon I think is that there should be more of the tree in focus. Other than that, you did a really good job!

I’ll keep an eye on that over the next week.
Thanks! This one was shot at f/3.5 - I shot the exact same frame at f/14 for some variety. Liked the result of this one better. I’m quite disappointed though, as framing was perfect on the other.
To all others: Thanks guys!

Hey was just browsing and came across your site. Some fantastic stuff, looks like you’ve worked really hard =) and im extremely jealous of your awsome setup! Wallpaper looks great to me, I love the way you’ve only got a small piece of the tree in focus, really nice quality too. Keep up the good work!

Hey Glenn - I noticed while browsing through previous Desktop Fridays that The Twenty Fifth entry is missing! Anywho, love the photos. I look forward to Fridays cause I enjoy seeing new photos of yours :)

Glenn, Nice DOF but do look at the framing - it can easily distract from shot if not done well.

That’s a neat shot, but I think a little more of it should be in focus….
